Ars poetica: I believe that everything I do is a part of something bigger, general. The present includes the previous, yet it also shows the way to what is next, forming an infinite process. The characteristics of my paintings are the material-likeness, layeredness, with a strong architectural element in their appearance. My most important tool of expression is not the house, but the wall, and especially the material. With the help of the layeredness I create walls – fake walls – spiritual architectural spaces. I am interested in how an urban wall – demolished and rebuilt – affects the human being, how it becomes a unit by its fragments and signs, how it will be thoughtful, an idea, a form of art, an independent piece. This material layeredness connects the three-dimensional space with time, continuity with memory. Every stage announces the next and contains the previous.
